BRODIE ELLIS

  • Brodie Ellis is an acclaimed Australian multidisciplinary artist recognised for her dynamic exhibitions blending painting, sculpture, installation, and moving image to explore ecological and scientific themes. Her work has been showcased in prominent venues such as the Rehmann Museum in Switzerland, Bendigo Art Gallery, Monash University Museum of Art, ACCA, MARS Gallery, and the Biennale of Sydney. Participating in group shows such as “Material Place” at UNSW Galleries and contemporary video surveys at Careof Gallery in Milan, her exhibitions have received critical acclaim. Ellis’ installations invite viewers to question the intersection of technology and ecology, constantly expanding the boundaries of environmental art through distinctive visual storytelling.

    Ellis has received significant awards and accolades, including a 2-year residency at Gertrude Contemporary, the Australia Council New Work Grant, the NGV Encouragement Award, and finalist selections in the National Small Sculpture Prize and ABN AMRO Emerging Artists Prize. Her work is held in public collections at MONA (Museum of Old and New Art, Hobart) and Bendigo Art Gallery, as well as in private collections.

    Ellis holds a BFA in Painting from the Victorian College of the Arts (2003–2005). She completed a Masters of Fine Arts at Monash University with first-class honours in 2025.
