Leanne Marshall is an emerging, artist based in Dja Dja Wurrung Country. 

Marshall completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2023 and is currently undertaking a Master of Fine Art at RMIT University. She has participated in group exhibitions across Melbourne and Adelaide, and was awarded a Helpmann Academy residency in Jingdezhen, China. Her work is held in the collection of the Art Gallery of South Australia. 

Drawing from her Australian Egyptian heritage and the generational practice of collecting and displaying ornaments and domestic keepsakes, her ceramic-based practice explores the psychological terrain of the home as a stage for the performance of feminine narratives and ‘identity. Through an experimental, ceramics-based practice, Leanne explores the meaning and value of domestic curatorial ritual as feminine expression occupying the liminal spaces between the interior and exterior world. Her practice reimagines ideas of ‘belonging’ through the weaving of inherited stories and family folklore into layered visual narratives that blur the line between myth and memory.
