JANETTA KERR-GRANT, BIO + CV

Interconnections between landscape, atmosphere, mood and memory are at the heart of Janetta’s ceramics practice. She makes robust elemental ceramic vessels painting, drawing and marking the surface to express an emotional response to place.

Janetta graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Honours from RMIT University in 2012, and in 2013 was awarded an Australia Council Grant to establish her practice.

Career highlights include being awarded artist residencies at The Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Japan (currently on hold) and the Fiskars Artist Collective in Finland. In 2018 she won the Klytie Pate Award and held a solo show at Mr Kitly based on her experiences in the Finnish forests. Her work is regularly shown in group exhibitions around the country. She was a recipient of the Trudie Alfred Bequest National scholarship and her work is held in the Bluestone Collection of Contemporary Craft, the AIR collection, Finland and the Manningham
Art Gallery.
