Rachelle Austen enjoys the process of working in solid clay, exploring the material's limits and furthering her learnings in acceptance.
Even through a very slow firing process to ensure the structural integrity of each piece, delicate fissures and cracks appear. The forces of heat and vitrification reveal new scars, allowing an insight into the strength and beauty of mass under pressure and manipulation.
