In Building a Squarespace Website, Magali Gentric guides the participants through the process of website design using the beautiful and user-friendly webdesign platform Squarespace, with a particular focus on folio presentation.  Participants will be shown how to use the Squarespace program and its applications, learning how to build, and update, their own mobile-compatible website (automatically formatting for smart phones and other mobile devices).

Introduction to Welding

Introduction to Welding is a one-day intensive course where Jason Waterhouse will guide participants through the basics skills required for MIG welding and gas welding.  In this program a maximum of 3 students will be instructed on welding applications and technologies required to work with various metals.  Jason will guide the participants through various types of MIG and gas welding and their applications through a number of practical exercises in both. The small class size allows for plenty of one on one instruction.  This course is delivered in Jason Waterhouse’s studio in the stockroom complex.

Introduction to Traditional Signwriting and Pinstriping is a program covering techniques on how to hand brush lettering using traditional sign writing mediums and techniques.  Participants will also explore the techniques involved in traditional Pin-striping whereby the participants will be guided through the basic techniques required to pinstripe with a traditional squirrel hair brush and enamel paint.

Advanced Sculpting and Resin Casting Techniques

Jud Wimhurst’s course Advanced Sculpting and Resin Casting Techniques is an intensive, three day course providing a fascinating insight into an approach to sculpture which incorporates model making and special effects techniques using contemporary industrial media.  Participants will be guided through techniques involved in modelling a small-scale sculpture using oil-based clay.  Jud Wimhurst will then show the learners step-by-step techniques to create a silicone mould, finishing with a cast resin sculpture.

Sculpting a Head Study

In this classic art school project - Sculpting a Head Study - Jason Waterhouse will be guiding participants through the process of creating a 3D head study from a life model, using clay. Participants will be shown how to make an armature as well as scaling and modeling techniques.  They will then be guided through creating a plaster waste mould from which a cast-plaster head will be created.
